Thanks to Gladstone
I would like to thank the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance Jan. 25.
The village of Gladstone awoke at 4 a.m. to flash flooding. Cars were partially submerged and Gladstonians were scrambling to save their vehicles and to try to assess how bad the flooding may be.
As long time residents of Gladstone, we are used to flash flooding and all that goes with it. One of the good things that always comes of this kind of situation is our volunteer fire department comes to our aid at any hour of the day or night.
I dialed 911 at about 4:10 a.m., and within 15 minutes fire department volunteers Ray Martin, Josh Mcfadden and Noelle Turley were on the scene evacuating the residents who wanted to Assistant Chief Arshag Humbles, Marshall Hesson, Josh Mcfadden, Noelle Turley and several other volunteers came to help with this task.
I would like to express a special thank you to Marshall Hesson and Josh McFadden for coming back the next day with the fire truck to wash down the street.
It was very nice to come home from work and not have to wade through the mud.
Again, we thank the Gladstone volunteers for all their help and a quick response.
