Search teams will deploy this afternoon to look for a man missing at Wintergreen.

Mike Comer 45, of Charlottesville, a Wintergreen property owner, set out on a walk from his home Wednesday afternoon and did not return, said Wintergreen spokeswoman Dana Quillen.

Comer’s wife reported him missing around 7:30 p.m., Quillen said. He has no significant health problems, she said.

Two search teams looked for Comer overnight but were limited by darkness and deep terrain, and they also were hampered by an approximately one-inch rainfall, Quillen said.

Wintergreen officials called the Virginia Department of Emergency Management, and several teams will set out to search for Comer between 1 p.m and 2 p.m. after assembling at Blue Ridge Commons, across the street from the Wintergreen firehouse, Quillen said.
