Long live the king
I must apologize to those of you who have considered my thoughts regarding the current activities of the federal government. I now understand that my comments have been based upon a wrong understanding of the relative relationship between those in Washington and the rest of us. I further have erred in believing in the outdated concept that our Constitution envisioned a government of three equal and separate bodies. One body to develop the rules of governance, one to execute those rules and one to ensure that the legislation and execution comply with the Constitution.

It has further come to my attention that the average annual salary of those of us in the “fly-over” part of the country is about $45,000. The average in Washington is more than $71,000. Clearly, the elite in Washington are smarter and better than the rest of us and should be paid a higher salary, have a better health care program and a better retirement plan.

They understand that they must put up with our stupid noises and concerns and quite correctly respond to our concerns with politically stanced computer generated replies. I have been wrong. We do not elect representatives to reflect our values and concerns, but rather to acknowledge the superior elite nature of the elected official regardless of the political party.

I should be thankful that I have such smart superior elite representatives to think for me.

At about the same time I realized my subordinate position to my elite representatives, the congressional and the executive branches heralded to the nation that they were now one. The executive told the Congress to pass “cap and trade” or the executive through the EPA would do it without Congress and the Congress said “yes master, anything else?” All of this going on while the Supreme Court allows the king and his princes to seize private property so that the king and princes can have more money to extend their reign. So much for the separation of powers. Long live the king.

King George had less power over the colonies than King Obama, his elite congressional court and subservient legal robes now have over us serfs. The Boston Tea Party was in 1773. The Battle at Bunker Hill was in 1775. The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776. Our Tea Party cries began in 2009. Will our Bunker Hill be in 2010?
