Relay for Life thanks
On Saturday, April 17, Nelson County’s first 5K Fun Run/Walk to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life was a huge success, raising more than $3,100. The Relay for Life teams, “Nelson Neighbors” and “Colors of Life,” would like to thank the community for coming out to support this event.
We would also like to thank the following sponsors for making the 5K possible: Michael S. Hancock with Ameriprise Financial, The Yarn Boutique, Trager Brothers Coffee, Nelson Roadrunners, Stedman House Interiors, Susan Lineberry/Cruises, Inc., Greenwood Gourmet Grocery, Lovingston Physical Therapy and Rockfish Gap Country Store.
In addition, the following provided goods and services: Joe Lee’s Blue Ridge Grocery, Nelson County Parks and Recreation, Nelson County High School track team and coach, the Virginia Department of Transportation, C’ville Market, Wal-mart, Food Lion, Whole Foods, Kroger, Harris-Teeter and Bagelicious.
Many thanks to Woody Greenberg for making sure the public was aware of this event, along with the Nelson County Times and Nelson County Life.
Thanks also to Joe Dan Johnson for taking pictures.
Last but not least, a huge thank you to all of our volunteers for their tireless efforts in getting this event off the ground and many thanks to Mother Nature for providing the beautiful weather!
