Johnson for treasurer
We need a treasurer for Nelson County who is experienced, knowledgeable and devoted to the taxpayers. We have the opportunity to nominate Angi Johnson as the Democratic nominee July 12 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lovingston Fire Department.
I support Johnson because I was her co-worker in the treasurer’s office from 1993 until I retired in 2007. She has the onl-the-job knowledge to perform the duties required of this position. Please join me in voting for Johnson on July 12.

Cop Camp thanks
On June 22-24, 2011, we held the first ever Cop Camp for Kids. The success of this event was all that we wanted it to be and more. The goal was to expose young people to the positive side of law enforcement, promote trust and encourage a positive relationship with the Sheriff’s Department. A big thank you to the kids who attended and their parents!
I want to thank my staff, some of whom worked this camp on their day off, and never asked for anything in return. It would not have been possible without you. You make me proud.
Special recognition and appreciation to the outside agencies which came to assist us with Cop Camp: Virginia State Police, Amherst County Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
