A Nelson County man accused of leading authorities on a car chase last month was arrested Tuesday.
Danny Acord, 27, of Blue Rock Lane in Roseland, was arrested around 10 p.m. in Augusta County, said Nelson County Sheriff David Brooks.
Acord is charged with eluding police, damage to police property, assault and battery on a police officer, manufacturing of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm while in possession of one pound or more of marijuana, the Nelson County Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies searched Acord's home Dec. 29 as part of a drug investigation and seized at least three pounds of marijuana, 29 firearms and materials used for growing marijuana.
Acord drove away as authorities arrived and led them on a chase along Virginia 151 in the Roseland area to Virginia 56 toward Crabtree Falls, the sheriff's office said.
The pursuit stopped when Acord's car hit a deputy's car and disabled it. Acord then abandoned his car and fled into the mountains, the sheriff's office said.
Acord is held without bond, Brooks said.
The Augusta County Sheriff's Office and the Virginia State Police assisted in the case.
