Rule by the people or a tyrant
The recent evolution of the political landscape from a totally modern-progressive, uncontested central government to a central government challenged by some strange growth called the tea party, brings us full circle back to the Constitutional concepts provided by the Founders.
The president and the Democratic caucus vilify those of a tea party bent for failing to "compromise." But how do you compromise a principle of sovereign state equality when the compromise is all related to variations of a modern-progressive, strong central government proposition? You can’t.
The underlying message of the tea party is concern for country. There are many disparate issues below this overarching one, but it is love of country that draws the movement together. We have had decades of essentially dictatorial rule by the political elite of both political parties and their special interest groups. It might be considered fortunate that the eagerness of the several Democratic special interest groups to achieve their respective goals without concern for the American people raised alarm among the citizenry.
The tea party movement is not about an issue. It is about taking back from the major political parties the power of governing. "We the People" must govern or accept being ruled by a political tyrant.
